Por décimo primer año consecutivo, se realizará desde el 3 de noviembre al 3 de diciembre, el taller Manos Productivas de Chan Chan, proyecto sostenible que es impulsado por el Ministerio de Cultura a través del Proyecto Especial Complejo Arqueológico Chan Chan (Pecach) y que involucra a la población de la zona de influencia de este Sitio del Patrimonio Mundial.
En la última década se ha logrado la participación de más de 500 personas de los poblados del entorno de Chan Chan. Para esta edición se espera involucrar a 70 personas.
Dicho taller propicia el fortalecimiento de la identidad cultural de los participantes a través del conocimiento de los diferentes elementos iconográficos que se han plasmado en los muros de Chan Chan y que caracterizan a la cultura Chimú, destacó Jhon Juárez Urbina, director del Pecach.
Por su parte, Víctor Vallejo Martell, jefe de la Unidad de Promoción y Participación Ciudadana del Pecach, destacó que otro de los fines de este taller es promover el uso de la iconografía chimú e involucrar a los participantes en la defensa y protección del sitio arqueológico.
Para esta edición se han considerado dos talleres: Elaboración de Cerámica con iconografía Chimú los días lunes y miércoles a las 5.00 p.m., y Tejido y Bordado con motivos Chimú los martes y jueves a las 5:00 p.m. Las clases se desarrollarán a través de la plataforma zoom.
Es importante destacar que la pandemia no ha frenado esta iniciativa cultural que se realiza en paralelo a las acciones de investigación arqueológica y conservación de Chan Chan, herencia cultural de la humanidad.
La iniciativa sostenible incluye a reconocidos artesanos de nuestra región quienes actúan como maestros de saberes.
