La Covid-19 ha demostrado que las situaciones de emergencia pueden ocurrir en cualquier momento y la mejor manera de enfrentarlas es estar preparados. Según el Instituto Geofísico del Perú (IGP), en lo que va del año han ocurrido 54 sismos a nivel nacional, de los cuales 12 han superado la magnitud de 4.5 grados.
Esto se debe, en parte, a que el Perú está situado en el Cinturón de Fuego del Pacífico, una zona de actividad sísmica en donde se originan aproximadamente el 85% de movimientos telúricos en el mundo. Si bien es cierto, no se puede prevenir el momento en que ocurrirá un terremoto, es fundamental estar listos para saber qué pasos realizar cuando esto suceda, sobre todo, en el contexto actual ocasionado por la pandemia.
En ese sentido, La Positiva Seguros brinda 4 recomendaciones para actuar ante un sismo de gran magnitud durante la crisis sanitaria que se está atravesando:
1.- Planificación Familiar:
Reúnete con tu familia y/o cohabitantes de manera periódica para dialogar sobre las acciones que adoptarán frente a la ocurrencia de un sismo de gran magnitud. Es importante que todos estén alineados sobre lo que se hará y, que tomen en cuenta la zona en donde se encuentran, así como las medidas de prevención frente a la Covid-19.
Recuerda que el objetivo no es generar pánico, sino crear conciencia sobre las medidas. Por eso, deberán discutir sobre la implementación y disposición de mochilas de emergencia con insumos para prevenir el contagio del virus, mantener las vías y pasadizos de salida libre de obstáculos y, los puntos a donde se dirigirán en caso de una evacuación.
2.- Planificación Vecinal
Si vives en un condominio y/o edificio multifamiliar, es recomendable que realicen reuniones virtuales para adoptar acuerdos relacionados al uso de los ambientes comunes y acciones en casos de sismo considerando la pandemia.
Coordina con tus vecinos los espacios a utilizar en el sismo para evitar la aglomeración y contagio del virus, así como las prácticas de apoyo mutuo con todos los protocolos de seguridad necesarios. Una de las acciones podría ser recolectar una serie de objetos de emergencia para ayudarse en caso de que alguno tenga problemas de evacuación, así como acopiar alcohol, mascarillas, protectores faciales y otros objetos que ayudarán a evitar la propagación del coronavirus.
3.- Evacuación
Ante la necesidad de una evacuación, deberás mantener la mascarilla en todo momento, evitar las aglomeraciones y llevar tu mochila de emergencia hacia donde te dirijas. Es fundamental guardar la distancia de 1.5 a 2 metros con el resto de personas y, al regresar a tu hogar, la primera acción será lavar tus manos con agua y jabón.
Si vives con una persona que contiene el virus Covid-19 deberás disponer de los medicamentos para el tratamiento del virus, utensilios para comer que puedan identificarse y sean destinados únicamente para esa personas, alcohol líquido al 70% , y alimentos que podrán ser incluídos en una mochila de emergencia específica para el o la diagnosticada.
Los enfermos de Covid-19 deberán utilizar doble mascarilla, al toser tendrán que cubrirse con el antebrazo y con dirección al piso, asimismo, mantendrán el distanciamiento social en todo momento y lugar. Se recomienda el uso de protector facial. Una vez que hayan sido ubicados en un lugar seguro luego de que el sismo haya culminado, deberán ubicar un lugar para aislar a las personas enfermas hasta la llegada de las autoridades.
4.- Mochila de Emergencia en tiempos de pandemia
La implementación y mantenimiento de una mochila de emergencia por cada integrante de la familia es fundamental para poder responder frente a un sismo u otra eventualidad no deseada. El uso permitirá que puedas tener acceso a alimentos y bebidas, así como atender por primeros auxilios a quienes lo requieran y, en el contexto actual, beneficiará a que puedas estar preparado para evitar un contagio.
Habitualmente, las mochilas de emergencia deben contener:
- Alimentos enlatados y agua embotellada.
- Algún abrigo, dinero en efectivo y cargador portátil para equipos móviles.
- Botiquín básico, barras de chocolate o cereal, y pastillas o insumos para tratamientos.
- Libreta con teléfonos de emergencia, linterna de recarga manual y pilas.
- Cuerda de poliéster, cuchilla multiusos, bolsas de plástico resistentes, y plástico para piso o techo de 2m x 2m.
En tiempos de pandemia deberás incorporar lo siguiente:
- Mínimo un juego de 3 mascarillas para cada persona.
- Guantes almacenados en cajas o bolsas y alcohol en gel al 75%
- Lejía debidamente identificada o rotulada.
- Almacenar estos objetos en una bolsa independiente a los demás insumos de la mochila.
Finalmente, recuerda que lo más importante en caso de un sismo de gran magnitud es guardar la calma y mantener en todo momento el uso adecuado de la mascarilla, el cual puede reducir en menos del 10% la probabilidad de contagio entre personas que también la utilicen.
