Según cifras de Promperú y del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas (MEF), el turismo aporta más de 2.5 % al Producto Bruto Interno (PBI) al año. Tras menguar los efectos de la pandemia del covid-19, se tenía previsto que la actividad turística se reactivara; sin embargo, debido a la crisis política y a la convulsión social actual, el turismo en nuestro país ha disminuido considerablemente, lo cual ha ocasionado millones de soles en pérdidas.
“Los conflictos sociales han generado que se cancelen hasta el 60 % de las reservas turísticas en todo el país en este primer trimestre del año, como señala el Mincetur. Esta situación provocaría que se reduzcan las divisas extranjeras que ya estaban comprometidas en vuelos, reservaciones en hoteles y restaurantes”, refirió la Dra. Lilian Pozo Trigoso, directora de la Escuela de Administración en Hotelería y Turismo de la Universidad César Vallejo (UCV).
Un claro ejemplo fue la cancelación de la Festividad de la Virgen de la Candelaria de Puno, el evento más importante del año en esa región y uno de los más turísticos de nuestro país. Tras la postergación de estas celebraciones, se perdieron aproximadamente 50 millones de soles, según informó el presidente de la Federación Regional de Cultura y Folklore de Puno, Víctor Espino.
En torno a este contexto, la Dra. Pozo Trigoso sugiere que el Gobierno debería tomar acciones concretas para reactivar la economía del país una vez solucionada la crisis política y la convulsión social en nuestro país.
“En el sector se debe implementar un plan de promoción turística integral de todos los destinos aptos para recibir a los turistas, esto ayudaría mucho tanto a pequeños y grandes empresarios como al sector turismo en general, con el propósito de recuperar lo perdido e impulsar la reactivación inmediata”, recomendó.
Además, la directiva de la casa de estudios vallejiana brindó algunos consejos para quienes desean viajar pese a la coyuntura.
- Averiguar si el lugar donde se pretende viajar se encuentra con manifestaciones internas.
- En lo concerniente a medidas de seguridad, utilizar agencias de viaje que se encuentren registradas en el Mincetur.
- Si en algún momento se encuentran en zonas de conflicto, evitar el diálogo con los manifestantes y retirarse de la zona lo antes posible.
- Solicitar al operador turístico las garantías necesarias para que su viaje sea placentero y sin riesgos.
Otros sectores perjudicados
“El presidente de la Cámara Nacional de Turismo del Perú (Canatur) manifestó en una entrevista que el sector turismo está perdiendo diariamente 500 mil soles y que se encuentran al 90 % en lo que respecta a caída de reservaciones en Cusco y en el sur del país”, señaló el Dr. José de la Rosa Orderique Torres, director de la Escuela de Economía de la UCV.
Asimismo, el especialista de la Vallejo mencionó qué otras actividades se han visto perjudicadas, en materia económica, a consecuencia de estos problemas.
“Los negocios de gastronomía han caído en un 75 % en ventas por la falta de turistas. El transporte de turistas también está golpeado por la falta de contratos con empresas de turismo y las visitas a zonas de paisajes naturales. La venta de artesanías y recuerdos locales ha caído en un 80 %, respecto a enero de 2021. Y el sector de entretenimiento cayó en un 65 % por la falta de visitantes nacionales y extranjeros”, indicó el Dr. Orderique.
