- Club Leo California de Trujillo obtuvo el premio ‘La Bondad Importa’ destinados solo a tres Clubes Leo del mundo.
Resultado del trabajo en equipo y la suma de esfuerzos en favor de causas solidarias, el Club Leo California de Trujillo obtuvo el premio ‘La Bondad Importa’ de la Asociación Internacional de Clubes de Leones, por el proyecto de servicio denominado ‘Panquchiy’, alineado a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible 2 (Hambre cero) y 3 (Salud y bienestar) de las Naciones Unidas.
En su traducción del quechua al español, “Panquchiy” significa: “brindar alimento”. En ese sentido, los jóvenes donaron más de 380 kilos de alimentos nativos del Perú de alto valor nutricional a más de 290 personas beneficiarias de tres ollas comunes ubicadas en el cerro Cabras, en el distrito La Esperanza. Además, brindaron charlas educativas sobre el valor energético y nutritivo de los alimentos, así como sus diversas preparaciones en desayunos, almuerzos, postres y cenas, con ayuda de una especialista en Nutrición.
“Como Leos somos llamados a atender necesidades y este proyecto surge en esa misión, ante el alza de precios de la canasta básica familiar, el desempleo generado por la inmovilización social y el riesgo de contagio de COVID-19. Por ello, unimos esfuerzos desde la virtualidad, con amistades y marcas locales, para alcanzar la meta económica y hacer entrega de los alimentos y las charlas nutricionales a las familias de este sector”, manifestó la expresidenta del Club Leo California, Lizbeth Vásquez Guzmán.
Añadió, que esta propuesta plantea que las ollas comunes continúen utilizando estos alimentos peruanos nutritivos en sus comidas diarias, de modo que les permita mejorar su alimentación.
“El premio de servicio ‘La Bondad Importa’ es un desafío para que los Leones y
Leos desarrollen proyectos de servicio innovadores y creativos que tengan un
impacto positivo en sus comunidades”, refiere el presidente internacional de la Asociación de Clubes de Leones, Brian Sheehan. “Cada uno de nosotros puede hacer mucho bien por su cuenta, pero juntos podemos hacer posible lo imposible. Juntos, podemos hacer que nuestras comunidades, y el mundo, sean un lugar mejor para todos los seres humanos”.
Este premio se otorga previa evaluación de la oficina central de la Asociación Internacional de Clubes de Leones en Estados Unidos, y se entrega anualmente solo a tres Clubes Leo en los más de 200 países donde funciona la organización, que realizaron un proyecto de servicio comunitario que demuestre creatividad e innovación, genere impacto positivo a largo plazo en la comunidad y cumpla con atender alguna de las ocho áreas de enfoque de la asociación.
Es importante precisar que, el Club Leo California se hizo merecedor de una placa y un prendedor conmemorativo para cada socio. Dicha distinción fue enviada desde Oak Brook, Illinois (Estados Unidos) por el presidente internacional de la Asociación Internacional de Clubes de Leones, Brian Sheehan, y entregada por la gobernadora de Distrito H-1 Perú, Ana Zavala Kcomt, durante una ceremonia de premiación organizada por el Club de Leones California en Trujillo.
