La doctora Gilda Pérez, especialista del Centro de Medicina Estética de la Clínica Ricardo Palma, señaló que en la efectividad de este tratamiento influye mucho el color del vello, ya que el pigmento de éste absorbe la energía del haz de luz del láser. Los pacientes con vello oscuro tendrán una mejor respuesta, y aquellos que poseen vellos blancos, pelirrojos, castaños y rubios lograrán un poco menos, pero en general la efectividad puede observarse al poder tratar cualquier parte del cuerpo y llegar a zonas de difícil acceso.
Además, explicó que la depilación láser consiste en un mecanismo de fototermólisis selectiva, mediante la cual el rayo láser ataca la melanina del vello, atrofiando el folículo piloso e impidiendo su regeneración, esto sin dañar el tejido circundante.
“Las zonas en las cuales se puede realizar el tratamiento de depilación son las axilas, piernas, brazos, línea de bikini, rostro y en cualquier área de la superficie corporal en donde el paciente desee eliminar vellos no deseados”, indicó.
Con la depilación láser obtendrás resultados desde la primera sesión, el número de sesiones dependerá de la zona a tratar y del tipo de vello que tenga el paciente, por ello es importante consultar con un especialista antes de realizar cualquier tipo de procedimiento. El protocolo indica que son necesarias entre 6 a 10 sesiones, ello garantizará el éxito del tratamiento.
Después del procedimiento, la doctora Pérez señala que no hay que seguir ningún cuidado en especial, pero sí es importante evitar exponer la piel inmediatamente al sol luego de la depilación.
