Lima, octubre del 2022.- ¡Orgullo peruano! Los para atletas peruanos Carlos Felipa y Kenny Pacheco se consagraron con la medalla de oro en las disciplinas de Lanzamiento de Bala y Disco, respectivamente, en el I Campeonato Abierto Internacional de Para Atletismo 2022 realizado en Colombia.
“Estamos muy contentos y orgullosos de haber dejado el nombre del Perú en alto. Las condiciones fueron muy particulares por el calor, el viento, pero felizmente se logró superar esos inconvenientes y nos trajimos al Perú la medalla de oro en disco. Nada de esto hubiera sido posible sin el apoyo de Vivir Seguros, que nos permitió viajar a Colombia”, dijo Carlos Felipa, quien ganó la presea de oro en lanzamiento de bala, imponiéndose sobre deportistas de Panamá, Cuba, Colombia y otros.
Kenny Pacheco expresó su alegría por este logro, aunque muy a su exigente estilo, aseguró que pudo haberlo hecho mucho mejor. “Las condiciones no nos ayudaron y aunque parezca mentira todo suma, pero bueno, tenemos la medalla de oro y nuestra marca se ha confirmado a nivel internacional, que creo que está por encima de la marca mínima. Ahora somos el team Vivir Seguros. ¡Arriba, Perú!”, declaró el para atleta.
Ambos deportistas representarán a nuestro país en el Open de Para Atletismo Lima 2022, torneo continental que se realizará en el Perú del 7 al 9 de octubre en la Villa Deportiva de San Luís. Además, Carlos y Kenny están a un paso de obtener su cupo, para los Parapanamericanos de Santiago, en Chile.

De esta manera, la empresa perteneciente al holding Inversiones La Construcción (ILC), el segundo inversionista más grande de Latinoamérica, reafirma su compromiso apoyando en nuestro país apoyando al deporte peruano.
Historias de superación y resiliencia
Carlos Felipa es un reconocido para atleta, cuya historia es de superación y perseverancia. Fue parte del ejército peruano y en el 2010, mientras se encontraba en un terreno de combate en el VRAEM, una mina colocada por terroristas le provocó la mutilación de su pierna izquierda y afectó parte de la derecha. Sin embargo, logró salir adelante y colocarse nuevas metas, las cuales cumplió en el deporte. Entre sus hazañas deportistas, Felipa tiene en su haber la medalla de plata en la categoría de Lanzamiento de Bala en Lima 2019.
Mientras tanto, la historia de Pacheco es de lucha y resiliencia. Fue víctima de la delincuencia. Quedó parapléjico luego de recibir dos impactos de bala a la altura de su columna durante un asalto. Sin embargo, pese a su condición, nunca se amilanó y decidió que el deporte profesional sería la fuente de sus mayores logros. Representando al Perú en diferentes contiendas deportivas, ha dejado en alto el nombre de nuestro país. Actualmente está dentro del Top 10 de para atletas en la categoría Lanzamiento de disco del mundo.
