En temporada de días lluviosos, principalmente en la costa norte y sierra del país, los conductores deben extremar los cuidados para circular por carretera, debido a que las fuertes lluvias y acumulación de agua dificultan la conducción.
Por tanto, es importante que los vehículos estén preparados para evitar el aquaplaning, que se produce en el momento en el que los neumáticos pierden adherencia con la pista debido a la formación de una capa de agua en la superficie de la carretera.
En ese sentido, Goodyear Perú brinda 5 consejos que debes tener en cuenta antes de empezar a rodar los neumáticos en días con alta precipitación:
- Evita frenar bruscamente: el agua vuelve a las carreteras más resbaladizas, en ese caso la peor decisión que puedes tomar es frenar bruscamente, esta acción perjudica a los neumáticos de manera notable. Adicionalmente, se recomienda revisar periódicamente el sistema de frenos del vehículo para mantenerlo en buenas condiciones.
- Revisar presión: si conduces por zonas lluviosas, lo ideal es medir la presión del neumático con frecuencia interdiaria, ya sea manualmente teniendo como base las recomendaciones indicadas por el fabricante del vehículo; o acercándote a uno de los tecnillantas Goodyear ubicados a nivel nacional.
- Neumáticos alineados: las frenadas repentinas, los cambios bruscos de dirección y velocidad representan un peligro en pistas mojadas. Por ello, procura tener tu vehículo alineado antes del inicio del período de lluvias, para conseguir una mejor conducción, ahorro de combustible y evitar reducir la vida útil del neumático.
- Frena con tranquilidad y suavidad: frente a los aquaplaning, intenta que los neumáticos nuevos o menos gastados vayan en el eje trasero, de esta forma lograrás un mayor control en las frenadas, un menor riesgo de perder el control del vehículo y una mejora eficiente de la conducción.
- Revisa la cocada: Se debe prestar especial atención a los dibujos del neumático ya que en el fondo del surco contienen el indicador de desgaste, el cual nos ayuda a reconocer cuándo tenemos que ir pensando en cambiar nuestros neumáticos. Tener en cuenta que la altura de la banda de rodamiento mínima legal es de 1.6 mm.
